For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants, children or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
Prince of Peace offers the Sacrament of Baptism throughout the year. Parents are required to register for and attend a one-time baptism preparation class, which is offered on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. To register for the class, please contact the church office 205-822-9125 . Please contact Megan Everett, 205-822-9125 ext. 12 with any questions.
Adults seeking baptism or parents seeking to baptize their child must schedule the baptism date and time with the church office. Baptisms are usually held after the 5pm Mass on Saturday or after the 11am Mass on Sunday. They may also be held during a Mass. After the baptism date is scheduled with the church office, the Baptismal Record Information form below must be completed. The Baptismal Record Information form is not to be used to request a baptism date.
