Alpha Comes to POP
Sep 10, 2018
Prince of Peace is pleased to offer a series of weekly sessions exploring the basics of the Catholic faith known as “Alpha” starting October 3. Perhaps you know someone who would like to learn more about their Catholic faith or was once a practicing Catholic but has fallen away or was baptized/confirmed but never became engaged in the faith. Tell them about our program and bring them to Alpha!
Each of the six weekly sessions looks at a different question that people might have about faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together held in Deasy Hall. Each session begins with a complimentary dinner at 5:30 pm followed by a 30-minute talk or video presented by Fr. Joy Nellissery and/or Dr. Dale Wisely and then a breakout into small group discussions. Childcare will be available in the church nursery.
The talks/videos explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? Probably the most important part of Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment right here at Prince of Peace. Register for the program and childcare here.
