2018 Lenten Parish Mission
MONDAY NIGHT OF PARISH MISSION CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER. SEE YOU TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY!
Please join us for our 2018 Lenten Parish Mission on March 19, 20 and 21 at Prince of Peace. Fr. Frank J. Muscolino will present Jesus Says, "Stay With Me, Pray With Me" on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20 beginning at 6:30 pm. He will also lead the penance service on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:30 pm as part of the final day of his mission at Prince of Peace. The theme of this year's penance service is: Jesus Says, "Come To The Cross." Why not take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to step away from the fast pace of everyday life and make time for God during Lent?
Fr. Muscolino has served in the Diocese of Birmingham for 50 years in many different capacities. He presently provides spiritual direction, counseling, and retreats to priests, religious, and laity. We are very excited and fortunate to have him come to Prince of Peace. In fact, this is the first time that he has conducted a mission for a Birmingham Diocese parish!
Father's assignments have included Chancellor/Moderator of the Curia, Vicar for Ecumenism, Vicar for Vocations and Founder and Director of the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program. He was Campus Minister for 20 years at UAB, Samford University and Birmingham Southern College. Father also established the St. Stephen Campus Center at UAB serving students, staff, and faculty. In addition, he has also served as Chaplain to the Sick and Dying at St. Vincent's Hospital. In addition, Father served as Chaplain at John Carroll Catholic High School from 1970-1974.
He holds a Theology degree from the University of San Francisco and is also trained in Bowen Family Systems Theory and Therapy from the Georgetown Family Center.
Childcare will be available all three nights in the church nursery. Contact Kara Woodard (205-822-9125 ext. 15) with any questions about church nursery care. (Students in grade two and above are encouraged to attend the penance service with their families.) Dinner will be offered in Deasy Hall beginning at 5:30 pm all three evenings.
