Baptism

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants, children or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

Prince of Peace offers the Sacrament of Baptism throughout the year. Parents are required to register for and attend a one-time baptism preparation class, which is offered on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. To register for the class, or if you have any questions, please contact the church office 205-822-9125.

Adults seeking baptism or parents seeking to baptize their child must schedule the baptism date and time with the church office. Baptisms are usually held after the 4pm Mass on Saturday or after the 8:30am or 11am Mass on Sunday. After the baptism date is scheduled with the church office, the Baptism Record Information form below must be completed. The Baptism Record Information form is not to be used to request a baptism date.

Contact the church secretary at 205-822-9125 extension 10, during regular business hours of Monday-Thursday 8:30am-3:30pm or Friday 8:30am-noon to schedule the baptism. Baptisms are usually scheduled after the Saturday 4pm or Sunday 8:30am or 11am Masses.
