Last year, I lead a 2-part series on Illness, Faith, & Healing. I've made a video version. It's a total of 80 minutes, but it's split over 3 videos. More below about getting to the videos.
Christians pray for the sick. We pray when we are ill. The idea that prayer and healing are connected runs through Christianity like a spine.
The healing miracles in the Gospels are essential. They are familiar to us. But it easy to miss their deeper meaning. They are miracle stories--but they are also a means by which Christ gives us messages about faith.
When we pray for the sick, what are we asking for? Healing? Comfort? Strength? That the will of God be done?
When Blind Bartimaeus approached him, Jesus asked him "What do you want me to do for you?"
When we are ill, when our loved ones are will, does Jesus ask us that question? What is our answer?
