Our Prince of Peace Girl Scouts celebrated "Girl Scout Sunday" on March 9 at the 11 am Mass. Girl Scout Sunday starts “Girl Scout Week” each March and gives the girls an opportunity to attend their place of worship together and be recognized for their participation in Girl Scouts. The girls served as greeters at the 11an Mass, participated in the entrance procession, and brought up the gifts. Fr. Fallon recognized all the girls and their leaders for their efforts in making the world a better place. Prince of Peace currently has 73 Girl Scouts in five troops from Kindergarten through eighth grade. See photos from the Mass here.
The goal of Girl Scouts is to develop girls of courage, confidence and character. Girl Scouts participate in a variety of activities, including service projects, cookie sales, camping, and outings as well as regular meetings.
