Prince of Peace will offer a three-part, “lunch and learn” series on the Letter of Paul to the Romans, widely regarded as Paul’s most comprehensive and masterful work. In this series, led by our own Dr. Dale Wisely, we will examine the key background elements of the letter, complete a general analysis of its message, and reflect upon some of the issues and problems found in the text. Classes will be held September 20, 27 and October 4 from 11:30am-1pm in Deasy Hall. Please RSVP here for the class.
Dale Wisely, M.T.S., Ph.D. is the Director of Family Life and Adult Education at Prince of Peace. He is a clinical psychologist (retired from practice), former public school district administrator, and is an active presenter on topics related to mental health and parenting. In addition to his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology, he earned a Master of Theological Studies degree from Spring Hill College, where he has co-taught in the Spiritual Direction program for more than 20 years.
Romans is Paul’s masterpiece. “It dwarfs most of his other writings, an Alpine peak towering over hills and villages. Not all onlookers have viewed it in the same light or from the same angle, and their snapshots and paintings of it are sometimes remarkably unalike. … What nobody doubts is that we are here dealing with a work of massive substance … and breathtaking theological and spiritual vision.”
