We welcome new physical education teacher Tim Brown and physical education aide Patricia Welch to our school. This dynamic duo will be teaching students across all grades, tailoring the classes to developmentally appropriate levels for boys and girls. In addition, they will offer a new middle school elective of strength conditioning and plyometrics.
Coach Brown comes to us from The Altamont School. He has 25 years of coaching under his belt in a variety of sports, including volleyball, football, basketball and softball. Outside of sports, he has produced documentaries for EWTN, traveling to 31 different countries and also had his own production company. Brown is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and lives in Birmingham with his daughter. “I love coaching; I love seeing the light turn on,” said Coach Brown. His goals for the students are to achieve good physical condition and to be focused in the moment.
Patricia is returning to Prince of Peace after a five year break. She taught physical education at the school from 2000 to 2014. “This is the only place I wanted to teach and I was thrilled when Connie called to offer me this position,” she said. Patricia is a former gymnast and also a graduate of Jacksonville State University. She loves physical activity and is looking forward to reinstating the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge at our school. Patricia lives in Hoover with her husband Frank and they have two adult children.
