Dr. Dale Wisely has two new morning "coffee talks" for parents in December! He will present "Developing a Positive Discipline Plan That Works," for parents of elementary age students on December 4 at 9:30 am in the school youth room. Dr. Wisely reminds us that, even though we tend to think of disciplining children as a way of reacting to specific incidents of behavior, a family discipline plan requires a commitment to a long-term process, which often seems to fail before it begins succeeding. In this program, he will discuss some of the common barriers to a good discipline program, and some positive tips about how to accomplish better behavior and, importantly, more positive parent-child interactions.
The following Wednesday, he will present "Yikes! Here Comes the Teenage Years." It can be difficult for parents to know how to deal with the day-to-day behavioral problems common among our kids as they approach and enter the teenage years. Dr. Dale Wisely, will present a talk on this subject for parents of teens on December 11 at 9:30am in the school youth room. He will discuss the importance of working on a good parent-teen relationship, while responding in healthy ways to positive and negative behavior.
Please remember to stop at the school office to obtain a visitor's pass before proceeding to the school youth room for either presentation.
