In celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham, a program will be held at the BJCC with popular Catholic speakers, Adoration, and a gigantic celebration of Mass. The focus of this Eucharistic Congress is on the “Source and Summit” of our Faith- The Eucharist. Through this major event, we will have a rare opportunity to celebrate with the worldwide Church right here in our backyard.
The presentations will be held at the BJCC with several thousand people expected. The first one is Friday, June 28, 7pm followed by a Eucharistic procession at 8pm from the BJCC to St. Paul’s Cathedral where there will be Eucharistic Adoration from 9pm to 7am on Saturday morning.
You are invited to walk in the procession and to be part of a POP team to be present during the ten hours of Adoration. There will be security at the Cathedral throughout the night and at least two deacons will be present. To sign up for the POP Adoration team go the SignUp Genius link on the parish website homepage www.popcatholic.org.
Also, plan to bring the family on Saturday, June 29 as Scott Hahn and Curtis Martin will be among the speakers that day. There will also be breakout programs in Spanish, and for youth and children. The Congress will end with a huge Mass on Saturday night at 4pm at the BJCC. Everyone is invited and there is no cost. For more information go to www.bhmcatholic.com or contact [email protected].
