School Chapel Nears Completion
Oct 4, 2019
We are in the process of transforming a former school conference room into a chapel on the first floor of our middle school building. The chapel will seat 25-30 students and be open during school hours, including briefly before and after school for quiet reflection by students, faculty and parents. This sacred space has a beautiful tin ceiling, double entrance doors flanked by two beautiful antique stained glass windows from a Catholic church in Pennsylvania, an altar handbuilt by a parishioner, velvet window shades and pendant lighting. The beautiful wooden tabernacle has arrived along with a statue of the risen Jesus that will become part of the chapel crucifex.
Thank you to everyone who has lent their time, talent and financial resources toward this project to date. The two stained glass windows were donated by a school family and a parishioner constructed a beautiful altar modeled on our church’s altar, sharing his gift of skilled carpentry with us. Others have contributed financially toward this holy project and we welcome anyone’s financial gift to help us complete the chapel. We anticipate the chapel will in October.
Anyone wishing to visit the chapel, once it is completed, will enter the school through the main entrance during regular school hours, receive a visitor’s pass, and then proceed to the chapel. If you have any questions or would like to make a financial donation to the remaining needs of the chapel, please contact Parish Operations Manager and School President Kelly Doss or write “school chapel” on your check’s memo line.
