Our Pathways to Joining the Catholic Church

Prince of Peace now offers two programs for learning about the Catholic Church and for preparing to be received into the Church. We offer our Wednesday night RCIA program and a new program which will be offered on Sunday mornings.

Wednesday Night RCIA Program

Prince of Peace offers a flexible, no-pressure RCIA program that begins with an orientation session at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 18, in St. Jude room.  Dinner is available, starting at 5:30pm, in Deasy Hall.  Childcare is available.

RCIA participants are able to experience Catholic practice by attending liturgical services and participating in parish ministries while learning about the faith.  They also will have opportunities to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).

RCIA sessions include interesting and informative presentations about basic Catholic beliefs and practices as well as discussions among participants and facilitators.  Classes conclude by 8pm.

View the schedule of Wednesday night RCIA classes here.

To find out more, or register for 2019-20 Wednesday night RCIA, come to our September 18 meeting.

New - Sunday Morning RCIA Program

Our new program is for baptized Christians who are interested in joining the Catholic Church, have been involved in other Christian denominations, and who are not able to attend our regular RCIA program. Candidates for this program would typically be non-Catholic Christians who are already attending Mass at Prince of Peace.

The program consists of six sessions on Sunday mornings, 9:45-10:45am. Following those sessions, participants will meet for prayer and reflection on a Sunday, November 10 from 3-5pm. Those who decide to join the Church may be confirmed and accepted into the Catholic Church at a special Mass at immediately following the prayer and reflection session.  Childcare is available for all sessions.

The following is the schedule for our first series:
