Father Mugagga Epah
Father Mugagga is from the Diocese of Kumba in Cameroon. He is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas major seminary in Bambui, Cameroon and was ordained on April 9, 2010. He served various pastor assignments in the Diocese of Kumba before being asked to become a missionary priest to the United States in 2020. He arrived in Birmingham in September 2020 and, after a quarantine period due to the coronavirus he arrived at Prince of Peace.
Our associate pastor grew up in Buea, Cameroon, the youngest of five children of Boniface and Regina Epah. His family as well as local priests and religious ground him solidly in the Catholic faith. Their relationships and actions taught Fr. Mugagga that God is love. He is fluent in the two official languages of Cameroon, English and French, as well as his village dialect. He is currently learning Spanish.
Fr. Mugagga is a huge basketball fan and loves to watch it and play it as well as other sports.
He is excited about his ministry at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and said, “Thank you for accepting me into your community. I am happy to walk with you and grow with you spiritually.”
