Staff Member: Cathy Yarbrough
Cathy Yarbrough is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a BS degree in Math/Economics. After a 34 year career in information technology at BellSouth, Accenture and AT&T, Cathy retired and joined Prince of Peace in 2010. She keeps the religious education department humming along smoothly throughout the year as she manages many behind-the-scenes tasks. She is also is the youth protection safety coordinator for the parish staff and ministry volunteers, making sure these individuals have completed their mandatory diocesan training with respect to youth and other vulnerable individuals and liaising with the diocese on this very important training.
She initially chaired the parish's stewardship committee that developed the original Prince of Peace Stewardship Plan in 2011- the blueprint for the four pillars being followed today (formation, prayer, hospitality and service.) She also chaired the parish's 2002 capital campaign steering committee that raised funds for the construction of the POP Catholic School gymnasium.
Cathy and her husband Roy joined Prince of Peace in 1986 when Mass was held in an office building in Bluff Park! They have two adult children and two (soon to be three) grandchildren.
