FOOD SERVICE MANAGER WANTED

Job Overview

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the food service and hospitality for parish supported functions. Manage the church kitchen and pantry supplies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and supervise the use of the kitchen and dining facilities for all functions.

  • Maintain cleanliness and health standards of the kitchen and all equipment and fixtures in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Budget, plan and supervise the order, preparation, service, and clean-up of all food, meals, and food service functions.

  • Perform weekly inventory counts and place food orders for the kitchen and any ministry requests.

  • Assist with the lifting and unloading of food and supplies at the time of delivery.

  • Schedule and maintain all kitchen and food service equipment, fixtures, and supplies.  

  • Coordinates with pastoral care coordinator to support meal functions including seniors outreach socials, funeral meals, and other parish-wide functions.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills Requirements

Two years’ experience as a chef/cook in a professional environment. Two years’ experience with recipe creation and scaling, budgeting, and planning. Experience working with other food service employees and volunteers with a passion to build positive performing teams. Ability to access and prioritize competing tasks and demands. Self-directed, highly motivated, flexible, and positive. Good organizational, multi-tasking abilities and problem-solving skills.  Ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a positive, focused manner and remain composed under stress.
