Adult Formation

A variety of faith formation opportunities are available at Prince of Peace for adults to grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith and nurture their relationship with Jesus Christ.


9:45 am - 10:45am  Becoming Catholic - online program

This program is our version of what is often referred to as RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  With joy and gratitude, we offer In Becoming Catholic for those who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith and then, if called, become Catholic.  This program is also open to Catholics who want to learn more about their faith. 9:45 am - 10:45 am - Adult faith study led by Mike Brown in St. Jude room. 

March 21 through April 25-  The Path to the Cross by Ray Vander Laan. Discover how the passionate faith of God's people prepares the way for Jesus and his ultimate act of obedience and sacrifice at the cross.  Be challenged in your own life to live as they did - by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

9:45 am  - 10:45 am - "Scripture in Action" - in person

This scripture study group meets weekly on Sunday mornings between the mornings Masses to discuss the readings for that Sunday and how those readings are relative in our life “today.”  Commentaries from scripture scholars are used to help understand and apply the readings to our life’s experiences. Strengthen your understanding of the Old and New Testaments by sharing your thoughts and questions about the readings we hear during the Liturgy of the Word. 6:00 pm - MOMs ministry 

Meets in person and via Facebook Live for book study, prayer and fellowship during the school year.  Also participates in service activities.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

6:15 pm - 7:30 pm - Men's Bible study 

Calling All Men to journey together in fellowship and study on the first and third Sunday nights of each month from 6:15pm to 7:30pm in the St. John room (in the new building).  Our catalyst for discussion will be the Sunday Gospel Reading for the next Sunday.  No heavy studying, just come, listen and share.  For more information contact Rees Oliver or Deacon Rick at 205-422-8734.


9:30 am - 11:00 am - Women of Worship meet for study and prayer during the school year.

Hail Mary, Holy Bible, begins April 6, 2021 and runs through May 4, 2021.  It is by Clifford Yeary from Little Rock Scripture Study. This study dives into the biblical texts and brings fresh and timeless insights into Scripture passages which form the basis for the Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous and Glorious mysteries of the Rosary.  A study guide and commentary will be provided with the book. There will be an intro class followed by four lessons.  The group meets both in person at the church in Deasy Hall (socially distanced, with masks of course) as well as via Zoom.
