This program is our version of what is often referred to as RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. With joy and gratitude, we offer In Becoming Catholic for those who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith and then, if called, become Catholic. 9:45 am - 10:45 am - "Scripture in Action" - in person
This scripture study group meets weekly on Sunday mornings between the mornings Masses to discuss the readings for that Sunday and how those readings are relative in our life “today.” Commentaries from scripture scholars are used to help understand and apply the readings to our life’s experiences. Strengthen your understanding of the Old and New Testaments by sharing your thoughts and questions about the readings we hear during the Liturgy of the Word. Calling All Men to journey together in fellowship and study on the first and third Sunday nights of each month from 6:15pm to 7:30pm in the St. John room (in the new building). Our catalyst for discussion will be the Sunday Gospel Reading for the next Sunday. No heavy studying, just come, listen and share. January 11, 2022 - "Walk in Her Sandals," edited by Kelly M. Wahlquist guides you on a prayerful and creative journey through the days of Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost as you imagine the experience of the women who met Jesus. Six lessons.
Spring 2022 - "Hebrews: the New and Eternal Covenant," by Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, draws connections between the Old and New Testaments, the Liturgy, the Eucharist, the priesthood in a way that makes them easier to understand. Eight lessons.
Lent 2022 study - "The Fourth Cup and the New Passover," by Dr. Brant Pitre, will take you step-by-step through what the Passover sacrifice and the Passover meal were like at the time of Jesus.
August 16, 2022 - "Pillar 1 - The Creed," by Sean Innerst, this study opens upon the structure of the Catechism and explains how it is far more than a list of "faith facts" and more a sure map for the faith journey.
